Shortlisted Author/Creator of the Year at the PICCASO Awards 2026
Proud to share that I have been nominated for Author / Creator of the Year at this year’s PICCASO Awards, with the Sofia Privacy blog as my entry.

I started this blog a year ago with few expectations. I just wanted to write about what I was interested in and passionate about, with the hope it would be useful to someone somewhere or that it would change someone’s mind about why data protection matters beyond compliance.
Writing this blog has made me happier because it stirs my creative juices and lets me assimilate things I have learned professionally, read on the news, or seen discussed in the industry. I often get inspired unexpectedly and look forward to writing a blog. Writing on my own terms has been amazing.
This is why being shortlisted means a lot: it's a sign that the angle – quirky and always trying to make privacy feel human rather than bureaucratic – is landing with the people it's meant for.
It’s also a privilege to be amongst the other nominees for the award, who are well-established in the industry and I have learned from. Congratulations to all of them.
The awards celebrate “the individuals, organisations, products, and services setting the benchmark for excellence in privacy, information security, compliance and AI across Europe. […]
The shortlist showcases a diverse range of achievements, highlighting outstanding leadership, forward-thinking initiatives, impactful communication, and excellence in areas including data governance, AI ethics, compliance, and cybersecurity.
Together, the finalists reflect the expertise, passion, and innovation driving the profession forward.”

That said, none of this happens without you as my reader and everyone else who shows up, subscribes, comment, and shares.
So, a big thank you to you. If you've read a post, forwarded one to a colleague, or given me feedback, you're part of this too.
